Why We Exist
The world got busier.
Our parents got quieter.
We built Your Finest Years because we believe the distance between families is not a failure of love. It is a problem worth solving.
The Problem
Loneliness is one of the most serious health risks facing older adults today.
Not a feeling. A health risk. That distinction matters.
Research from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine found that more than one-third of adults over 45 report feeling lonely on a regular basis — and among adults over 65, social isolation is linked to a 50% increased risk of dementia, a 29% increased risk of heart disease, and a 32% increased risk of stroke.
Dr. Julianne Holt-Lunstad at Brigham Young University, whose work was cited in a U.S. Surgeon General advisory, found that lacking social connection carries health risks comparable to smoking 15 cigarettes a day.

The Irony
Families care deeply. And still, the distance grows.
This is not a story about neglect. The adult children who buy a Your Finest Years membership love their parents. They call. They visit when they can. They worry.
But children grow up and move away. Families spread across cities and time zones. Retirement removes the structure that used to anchor the week. Friends move, or pass away. The days grow quieter — not because anyone chose it, but because life simply kept moving.
The Harvard Study of Adult Development — the longest study of human happiness ever conducted, running over 80 years — found one thing above all others predicts a long, healthy, and fulfilling life: the quality of our close relationships.
“The clearest message we get from this 75-year study is this: good relationships keep us happier and healthier. Period.”
— Robert Waldinger, Director, Harvard Study of Adult Development
The Opportunity
Engagement, curiosity, and connection are protective — and they are buildable.
The research is consistent: older adults who remain curious, purposefully engaged, and socially connected live longer, stay sharper, and report greater happiness. These are not passive outcomes. They are the result of structure, habit, and the people around them.
That is the opening. When someone has something new to look forward to every week — a chapter to read, a story to discover, a question to bring to a phone call — the texture of the week changes. The relationship between family members changes. The calls get longer because there is more to talk about.
Your Finest Years is built around that insight. Not as a wellness lecture or a checklist. As an adventure.
Our Approach
Travel is the metaphor. Connection is the purpose.
Every month, travelers explore a new destination through four weekly chapters — stories, activities, food, movement, reflection. It feels like an adventure because it is one. The learning is embedded. The engagement is natural. The family is invited in.
Families send digital postcards, record voice messages, and receive a simple notification each time a chapter is completed. The distance does not disappear — but something to share across it does.
We do not promise to cure loneliness or prevent dementia. We are not a medical product. We are a family-connection product built on the evidence that curiosity, purposeful activity, and meaningful relationships are worth cultivating — at any age, and especially now.
The Mission
We help people who love each other stay connected when life naturally pulls them apart.
Travel is the metaphor. Connection is the purpose.
